Scientific Programme
The Local Organising Committee invites all associated with dentistry to participate in the Australian Dental Congress and Exhibition. The Congress will present excellent opportunities to be involved in the scientific and social programmes as well as good opportunities for networking. Mark the dates in your diary 12-15 March 2009.
CSI: Perth

The theme of the Programme in Perth promises to be of great value to all members of the dental profession. The latest in Clinical, Scientific and Innovative aspects of dentistry will be explored with an evidence based approach.
The specific challenges we face on a daily basis in our profession will be addressed:
Day 1: Diagnosis
Day 2: Treatment planning and treatment
Day 3: Maintenance and complications

Please be aware that the Lunch and Learn Session entitled "Periodontal Risk and the Application to General Practice", presented by Assoc Prof Werner Bischof and scheduled for Sunday 15th March, will now be held on Saturday 14th March 2009.
Assoc Prof Camile Farah’s Lunch and Learn Session which was scheduled for Sunday 15th March will now take place on Friday 13th March 2009. Prof Laurence Walsh’s Lunch and Learn Session which was scheduled on Friday 13th March will now take place on Sunday 15th March 2009.
The Scientific Committee has worked hard to secure 4 outstanding international speakers covering the disciplines of Prosthodontics, Periodontics, Endodontics and Paediatric Dentistry. In addition, national speakers will provide quality presentations and workshops. The CSI:Perth Programme is designed for all professionals interested in clinical practice with a scientific foundation.
The 4 International Guest Lecturers for the Congress are:
- Professor Monty S Duggal (England) - Paediatric Dentistry
- Dr David Felton (USA) - Prosthodontics
- Professor Niklaus P Lang (Switzerland) - Periodontology and Fixed Prosthodontics
- Professor Richard E Walton (USA) - Endodontics
On the first morning we will hear presentations from each of the Principal Overseas Lecturers. Then, over the remaining two and a half days, there will be three concurrent streams utilising presentations from a large number of Australian lecturers. All four Principal Lecturers will present at least three lectures. In addition, Lunch and Learn Sessions will be available each day.
A one and a half day’s programme is being organised for the non-dentist (allied) members of the Dental Team.
